Post Spring Break Syndrome

Hey Everybody,

Today I would like to talk about what I like to call the post spring break syndrome.  Yes I made that up, but I am almost positive everyone feels it so decided to give it a name.

I previously posted a post about how great spring break was and how everyone needs a break... that is all still true, but I had forgotten what happens after the break.  Spring break being so close to the end of the semester makes us subconsciously "check out" or decide that we are done for the semester.  This is very bad because as you and I know we all have to get right back in where we started.  If we have checked out and are no longer is school mode it makes it ridiculously hard to do any school work when the break ends.  Not that the work is too much to ask, it is just extremely hard to focus when it is so beautiful outside and you want to be out doing things.

After spring break we all just would like to be done for the semester, but unfortunately we have about 5 weeks left to try to get out brains back into school mode.  Well I'm off to sit at my desk to try to open my text book...

  1. I totally agree with you that their is spring break syndrome haha. I literally could not make myself do any work this first week and I am having trouble even now trying to get motivated. As much as I love Spring Break I hate the after affects that go with it. Here's hoping that relatively soon we'll all be able to get back into the swing of things for school.

  2. That is so true… spring break is awesome is a very fun break, but it is hard to go back to school and concentrate when all you want is the break to continue. This last week I had a very hard time going back to school and focusing on what I have to do, plus this is the time of the semester where all your final projects need to be finished, so it is a very stressful time. I cannot imagine how it would be without the break, maybe it could be easier to just continue and finish earlier, but I love spring break is a nice time to get away from the stress.

  3. I have never heard truer words. Last week I forgot homework and projects that had to be done. I fill that physically I am in class but mentally I am in a distant land to which I am stranded and cannot return to my body. When I finally remember assignments that I need to get done I have run out of so much time and that makes me feel brainless for forgetting. The only word that I can think of to describe this first week back from spring break is discombobulating.
